Hesbon Omollo SAYS:>>>>They have sensed defeat at the hands of indefatigable Silas Chepkeres Jakakimba and now they have brought down the gates of county assembly even before the exercise begins…
Last night I warned of this MIB.. Here goes the first line of attack
Moses Kajwang’ SAYS:>>>Today is nomination day for the ODM party for the Homa Bay Senate Seat. We have gone round the County and we are confident of victory.
The success of the exercise will however depend on how organised the National Elections Board will be. It is unfortunate that delegates did not receive invites for the function; this is a huge lapse considering that Homa Bay County has almost four parallel delegates list. As things stand, nobody knows who is on the official list of delegates.
Secondly, some of the candidates have abducted those they suspect to be delegates. Some of them are being holed up in places as far as Sirare in Tanzania. The goal is to disenfranchise these delegates and to threaten and bribe them to abandon the exercise.
Thirdly, we have witnessed massive bribery and even caught some of the candidates on camera. Unfortunately the Elections Board has not taken any action despite our reports.
Fourthly there has been a lot of violence in these campaigns; last night my security had to fire in the air to disperse a group of hired thugs who attempted to harass our supporters in Kagan, in the heart of Rangwe.
Despite these challenges, we are confident that the delegates will vote with their conscience rather than the stomach.
I have promised the people of Homa Bay a fresh and youthful approach to leadership. I have stressed that as a young person I will work with and for the youth and women. I have promised steadfast loyalty to the party and the coalition. I have promised unconditional support for the party leader and the 2017 presidential campaign. Today the delegates of Homa Bay will chose whether this is the agenda that serves them.
