Migori Women Rep, Kisii Majority leader declare interest in ODM Publicity Secretary

Migori Women Rep, Kisii Majority leader declare interest in ODM Publicity Secretary

January 27, 2014

The post of ODM Publicity Secretary has attracted new entrants with Migori County Representative Denittah Ghati and Kisii County Majority leader Beuttah Omanga throwing their bids in the position seen as one of the most lucrative in the revamped ODM National Executive Council.

Ghatti (pictured),  a Kenyatta University Social Work graduate has a diploma in journalism studies from the same university while Omanga, the ward representative of Bogichora in Kisii County, is a former journalist with the Standard Group.

At the same time, a group of Luo MPs have maintained Prime Minister Raila Odinga should not endorse any candidate for the post of Secretary General of the party.

Raila Odinga is seen to favour nominated Senator Agnes Zani who hails from Kwale County which majority of Luo MPs are opposed to, citing her inexperience in the murky politics of Kenya.

At a funeral of Ndhiwa MP Netto Agostino’s stepmother in Homa Bay County, the MPs maintained that a clique around Odinga are misadvising the former PM on the forth coming party polls where certain posts are seen to be tailored for certain regions.

ODM NDC is set for February 28 and March 1.
