Outspoken Suba legislator John Mbadi declared his interest for the position of ODM Secretary General currently held by Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o.
Nyong’o is in the United States on academic semester at Harvard University as Go Brutland scholar of public health.
While declaring his bid, Mbadi, a second term MP, said the Orange party needed fresh and energised leadership ahead of the next elections.
“I will seek to replace the current office holder, Prof Anyang’ Nyong’o, in the elections and no amount of intimidation will cow me,†Mr Mbadi.
“The move by young MPs in ODM to take over the reins of power is real and unstoppable,†he said, adding that he has been ‘tested, tried and trusted’.
Mbadi was speaking during a funds drive at Osogo Catholic Church in Uriri Constituency, Migori County. Uhuru MP Eng. John Kobado pledged his support for Mbadi.
