DAVID MATSANGA: ‘killing’ ICC WITNESSES on Jubilee government payroll?

DAVID MATSANGA: ‘killing’ ICC WITNESSES on Jubilee government payroll?

September 25, 2013

By Daniel Ojoo Ongoma guest bloggers, in Kampala.

Dr. Matsanga, in his reply to a detailed expose (REVEALED: FUGITIVE UGANDAN behind ICC witness Intimidation and mass Withdrawals) we did last week, had unsavoury language towards the editors of Kenya Today and we seek to set the record straight. We shall break the issues bit by bit. But even before we respond, we wish to reiterate that Dr Matsanga is part of a wide network of shadowy individuals hellbent on killing the Kenyan cases at the ICC.

Sadly, if all these ICC cases get terminated for lack of witnesses, Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto will remain mass murderers who did not allow the rule of law, international law, to take its full course. Kenya as a country is better of with justice, however painful it takes. Here is Matsanga for the world:

A dubious academic character

Matsanga claims he has a Masters degree in Political Science and a Phd in Psychology. However, it is not clear whether he sat his A Levels.

First, before he deceives the world, can he produce his A Level certificate? Again, the Ugandan education system is not one we need to bother much about.

Matsanga was a double agent in the Uganda Government-LRA Juba peace talks:

In August 2006, around the period of signing the peace agreement, the LRA bases in DRC were attacked. Joseph Kony believed that Matsanga was responsible for the attack and that he had misled him. This cast Matsanga as an unreliable person who cut deals with both sides of the conflict.

Money driven?

From various interviews conducted with a number of people who participated in the peace talks, Matsanga joined the talks purely for money. After being arrested at Juba airport with $ 20,000 in cash, a suspicious handshake from the Ugandan authorities, he fled leaving Dr. James Obita to take over.

According to Obonyo Olweny the immediate former LRA spokesman in one of the interviews he quipped, “Matsanga was only interested in money in the name of LRA and not the blood of the suffering people in the north. We began the peace process in Juba and he came from London begging to join the LRA delegation. You tell him he has failed to deliver the peace agreement he promised to his paymasters.” He added.

Media reports during the Juba talks alleged that Matsanga and his delegates were more interested in financial packages and allowances, and went to ‘disturbing lengths’ to get the money, rather than peace.

Many Ugandans believe Matsanga is not a true political activist but only looks for easy means of getting money from African governments. His record speaks for itself.

Granted Amnesty

For the past 23 years since he fled Uganda, Matsanga fruitlessly tried to build a  relationship with President Yoweri Museveni.  In the period leading to 2006 Juba peace talks, he convinced the Ugandan authorities that he will deliver Kony to the negotiation table; this led to him being granted amnesty on 3rd June 2010 in Nairobi and since then he has become a rabid defender of the NRM regime.

There is evidence to this end in two cases where when President Museveni  blamed the West over Libyan intervention, Matsanga wrote an article praising President Museveni, and accusing the Western Countries. Sadly, Matsanga is a beneficiary of the magnanimity of the western world.

Again, during the ‘walk to work’ protests in Kampala last year, Matsanga waded into the controversy by alleging that the CIA was behind plans to bring down Museveni’s government. Uganda opposition leader, Kizza Besigye, would later be sprayed by pepper in one Yoweri Museveni’s grossest attack on opposition politicians in his country.

Chilling revelations of the victims of the LRA conflict, many of whom still blame Matsanga for frustrating the Juba peace talks, points to a fugitive who is cunningly deadlier the Joseph Kony, the elusive LRA leader.  Fierce critics of his amnesty by the Ugandan government opine that, given the outcome of the Juba talks, Matsanga should be serving a death sentence in Uganda jails for hijacking a peace process whose failure degenerated the conflict in northern Uganda to genocide levels.

Matsanga and the Zimbabwean crisis

He would want the world to believe that he has never had any dealings with President Mugabe.  The truth of the matter is that during the height of Western Countries sanctions on Zimbabwe, Matsanga through his Africa World Media Company, lobbied European governments to be sympathetic to Mugabe. He went on with his mission until he made a blunder of bringing a Sky News Team Crew to shoot documentaries in Zimbabwe. When the security refused them entry, Matsanga with his usual character started engaging them in a shouting match that led to his detention.

In his response to this accusation; Matsanga, who despite having spent his exile years cooling off in London and siring 8 children (two other women in Uganda accused him of abandoning them with a child each), responded by calling white zimbabweans “hamburger boys”, a line Mugabe used to stir ethnic emotions and expel thousands of whites from Zimbabwe as he began indigenisation of former white farm lands.

Witness Tampering

Matsanga claims he has no hand in interfering with the ICC witnesses in the Kenyan cases. But in his rebuttal, he agrees of tracking down witness No. 4, allegedly called Maina Kabutu. What more evidence do we need to prove his involvement?

Again, why is Matsanga keen on Kenyan cases? He claims to have  “devoted most of his time investigating the rotten Office of the Prosecutor which bungled,  procured, bribed,  faked, and  sexed evidence to incriminate ODM rebels and PNU hardliners“. Why? and who is paying him? He is not a Kenyan, neither were his 8 children, all educated in London using British taxpayers money, affected by the orgy that was the 2008 post-poll violence. Why is a Ugandan so interested in a case which is exclusively Kenya’s?

He further claims, “It is not a riddle wrapped up in an enigma or witchcraft to realise that  the mass withdrawal of witness adduce to the fact  that no grain of truth can be found on the witnesses lips when testifying against  the accused before the International Criminal Court. These witnesses were coached and that is why they are fleeing the dock.” If he claims not to be a fugitive paid to kill, maim, or cause mortal disappearance of ICC witnesses, how has he come to the above conclusion? Who, if not Matsanga, claims to have “all the truth” on why ICC witnesses are “fleeing the dock”?

Matsanga currently lives in Nairobi

Our investigators traced Matsanga to Nairobi’s parklands area; the neighbourhood adjacent to the scene of West Gate terror attack. Who pays his rent at KPLC apartments where they share the same flat with a former critic of President Kenyatta whose wife, a former ambassador, is now a Principal Secretary?

As a foreigner, what preferential treatment warrants him to be chauffeured in a Government of Kenya car with two GSU police officers? For the avoidance of doubt, Matsanga began being driven around with part of the officers who had been seconded for Treasury. At that time, Uhuru Kenyatta was the Finance minister.

His unwarranted Rants on ODM and Raila Odinga

Matsanga lives in a time long gone. It is a time when the country was so divided with tribal hate and ethnic jingoism. The ICC initially nabbed six Kenyans. Among them were ODM chairman Henry Kosgey and Mohammed Ali, the former police commissioner. Today, Ali, Kosgey and Muthaura have since been released by the same court. Was Kosgey an ‘ODM rebel’? Was Maj Ali a PNU hardliner? Who was Muthaura?

“It’s  unfortunate that Raila Odinga and the Orange Democratic Party diehards (who are finding it hard to smart from election defeat) can hire hoodlums operating in Netherlands to maim, dismember and sodomise the character and the reputation of Dr  Matsanga”. He writes.

It takes bizarre imagination to think, even for a split second, that Raila Odinga, leader of the Orange Democratic Movement and the CORD coalition, is concerned about a hireling doing Jubilee Alliance a political bidding. Unlike politicians in his country; this man is bewildered that here in Kenya, elections are not an end unto itself. Kenya is not a dictatorial utopia that is his quasi-country.

A great many writers and political contributors on this blog share the same ideological position with other like-minded organisations and individuals. Because of the sacrifices of kenyan leaders like Raila Odinga, at a time when Matsanga was enjoying holiday in London, Kenya can pride itself of independent online media blogs and bloggers. But for a fugitive Ugandan, he seems convinced that contrary opinion and dissidence are synonymous with personal vendetta.

He has hobnobbed from one position to another depending on the season. From being a rabid critic of Museveni to being his die hard apologist, Matsanga is a character who will eventually shame Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.

Surprisingly, an ideological puppet who swings like a pendulum and changes with the tide, depending on the occasion, had guts to claim we in Kenya Today ‘are the same terrorist networks that are linked to Zimbabwe’s Baba Jukwa  who have decided to take a new dimension  in fermenting  democracy  in Africa  by whipping frenzy populations on social media against elected governments in order to achieve an Egypt Arab spring in Africa’. We highlight the use of “terrorist network” because Matsanga used this term in his scary rebuttal on Wednesday, only for a terrorist network in the name of Al Shabaab to attack our country. What did Matsanga know? What did the Jubilee government which pays his dues know?  Did the top honchos in the Jubilee government conspire with terrorist networks to kill Kenyans?

He has hobnobbed from one position to another depending on the season. From being a rabid critic of Museveni to being his die hard apologist, Matsanga is a character who will eventually shame Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.

Finally, Matsanga still lives in the pre-presidential campaigns  Kenya where Uhuru and Ruto made gullible poor Kalenjins and Kikuyus believe that the ICC was a creation of Raila Odinga. It’s unfortunate that he has chosen to drag the name of CORD leader Raila Odinga and ODM in addressing his woes.

Uganda bloggers and investigators are grateful for the help we received from Kenyans of goodwill allowing us to ‘peel back the mask’ being won by a fugitive criminal living amidst you. Those who wish to read Matsanga’s insinuations should check them on his online propaganda website, Africa World Media.
