CORD leader Raila Odinga is in Kisii County in what sources say is a tour to inspect development projects on the invitation of Gov. James Ongwae.
Odinga, who earlier in the morning met a visiting member of parliament from the Republic of Tanzania left for Kisii mid morning and was received by Kisii governor James Ongwae at Suneka Airstrip.
Several MPs and local leaders received the former PM including Kitutu Chache legislator Richard Onyonka who has been quoted in a section of the press claiming the Odinga should quit active politics.
It is said Gov. Ongwae invited the PM to inspect several development projects being undertaken by the county in a new strategy to counter Uhuru Kenyatta who has been moving round the county ‘launching’ county projects yet no major national government projects or activities are being rolled down.
The CORD leader will in the coming weeks tour several other counties to take stock of what counties are doing before relaunching Okoa Kenya campaigns.
It is unclear whether the CORD leader will address any major rally though big crowds started building up the moment residents got wind that the People’s President is around.
