CORD leader Raila Odinga today paid a courtesy call to Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero at City Hall, Nairobi.
This comes days after the unfortunate incident during Raila’s homecoming party where a section of the crowd heckled the city governor, forcing him to cut short his speech.
Raila was accompanied by several MPs and members of the Nairobi County assembly. Also in attendance during the mid morning meeting was ODM Secretary General Prof Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o.
Odinga’s visit brings to an end weeks of speculation, often spurned out of proportion by the media, that the two politicians are at loggerheads with each other.
Raila has maintained he supports Governor  Dr Evans Kidero in his efforts to deliver services to the residents of Nairobi.
“We in Cord fully support the Governor and will ensure that he gets all the backing he needs to deliver to the people of Nairobi,†he said adding that Kidero has a difficult task to ensure service deliver to the city county.
“The Governor has a difficult task of ensuring that key services such as infrastructure, education, health, garbage collection and the general welfare of the Nairobi people are delivered,†said Mr Odinga while addressing the media.
Others who accompanied the CORD leader are T. J. Kajwang, Irshad Sumra, Mohamed Junet, Mpuri Aburi, Simba Arati, and Kibra’s Ken Okoth.
