Key aspirant DROPS OUT of Homa bay ODM nomination race

Key aspirant DROPS OUT of Homa bay ODM nomination race

December 13, 2014

A key ODM aspirant has dropped out of the race for ODM ticket ahead of the Monday vote. Hilary Alila, who contested against Otieno Kajwang’ in the last elections and lost has opted not to use ODM ticket.

It is not clear why Alila opted out of ODM ticket though sources claim he decided ‘not to waste his money’ on a ticket already given to another candidate.

On Friday, only 8 candidates returned their nomination papers after more than ten showing interest in the party’s ticket. The eight were Caroli Omondi, Silas Jakakimba, Eng Philip Okundi, Fred Rabongo among others.

Alila is said to have opted to be an independent candidate alongside little known city lawyer Dennis Ochieng Onyango.
