Shock as Police DISCOVER RAPE cave in Githurai, Kiambu county

Shock as Police DISCOVER RAPE cave in Githurai, Kiambu county

December 10, 2014

Residents of Githurai 44 were in shock as  five men suspected to be members of a gang behind a series of rape incidences were arrested from a forest in the area.

The police also discovered a cave in the forest that had a number of clothing indicating that a number of people lived there.

FEMALE UNDERPANTS

“We also recovered tens of female underpants and several pornographic materials in the cave and we suspect that several people have been involved in a rape syndicate” a resident involved in the operation, Robert Mwangi said.

He said the cave also had had sharp objects like knives, purportedly used to intimidate the suspect’s victims to give in.

“We decided to be involved in the search for the criminals because several females from our area and others, have on several occasions been raped in the area” Mr Mwangi said.

DARK CAVE

The assorted pornographic materials were arranged in an album and were placed under what seemed to be a sleeping area inside the dark cave.

The five suspects are being held at the Kiamumbi police station as detectives continue with their investigations. The suspects are aged between 22 and 36 years.
