BOMET – Deputy President William Ruto has been urged to step aside to clear name from mega scandals he has been mentioned in. The DP is engrossed in a sh 28 billion hospital scandal following allegations by a whistle-blower that he bloated an original tender of sh 17 billion upgrade to sh 28 billion so as to receive sh 11 billion kickback.
Fr Ambrose Kimutai of Segemik Catholic Parish in Chepalungu, Bomet County has urged the DP to step aside and pave way for investigations just as he recently demanded of other leaders.
“The DP is on the record asking other prominent Kenyans linked to corruption to step aside. It is only fair that he also steps aside. He demonstrates to the country that anyone mentioned in a scandal has to step aside,†Fr Kimutai said.
The churchman also warned the deputy president to go slow on his recent comments on homosexuals, telling him that he shouldn’t act God.
“Who told the DP that gays are not Christians? The government must allows this group of people to enjoy their rights because they are humans too. If God made them that way, who should judge them?†he said.
