Bereft of how to handle another powerful Mt Kenya ‘iron lady’ akin to Martha Karua, the Kibaki era powerful minister and safe-keeper of Mt. Kenya interests, the Jubilee Alliance now plans to blame the opposition for not being able to impeach Devolution cabinet secretary Anne Waiguru.
The ruling alliance, used to reminding opposition that ‘wakati wa siasa ulipita’ have been frantically reaching out to CORD to ‘own’ the impeachment of President Uhuru’s right hand woman, Anne Waiguru, but CORD seems disinterested.
CORD is understood to have indicated it does not want to get involved in ‘government politics’ as it concentrates on its role as the opposition coalition.
In fact, more embattled is the URP side of the government who until now has continued to downplay alleged insubordination of the Deputy President William Ruto, also the URP Party leader.
On two instances, Ruto has been embarrassed after his pronouncement were countermanded by President Uhuru Kenyatta, in the time tested fashion that PNU used to act during the ground coalition government.
Honchos in government would wait for then Prime Minister Raila Odinga to make a policy statement on behalf of the government, only to do the exact opposite.
The Deputy President, at the formation of the cabinet, had said there would be no politicians, only for three politicians Najib Balala, Kazungu Kambi and Charity Ngilu to be absorbed.
More recently, Ruto claimed the government would not pay Anglo-leasing but now revelations emerge that Treasury paid the ghost firms by acting on a mere email from the head of president’s press, Manoah Isipisu.
The opposition maintains it will not be party to Waiguru sacking. While a notice has been taken to parliament, several TNA Mps are said to have pulled out of the move, a development which is set to embarrass Ruto even more.
At least, and to his benefit, the Deputy President has not openly expressed his views over the developing machinations within the ruling Jubilee Alliance.
The attack will be led by the usual culprits Kipchumba Murkomen and Aden Duale, both, interestingly, are URP lawmakers!
