The former NTV journalist has for years reported on issues regarding horn of Africa and lately he has been reporting from the front-line on the War against Alshabaab in Somali.
Following the attack on KDF in El-Ede camp by Alshabaab that led to loss of more than 100 soldiers, the former TV journalist has been the only source of information for Kenyans since the government seemed to have little to share with the public. Having stayed and reported from Somali he developed good rapporteur with local contacts (citizens journalists) who have been feeding him with critical information from deep inside Somali.
Its highly likely that he has been arrested following his extensive reporting of the attack by Al Shabaab on KDF camp in El Ede, Somali where more than 100 officers were killed, 12 held hostage and about 30 rescued with another approximately 80 unaccounted for.
