Eldoret, The recent remarks by Tony Gachoka in Jeff Koinange Live where he dared Kalenjins to quit Jubilee, seems to be a waking call for the Kalenjing community and they have started to do something.
During an interview, Gachoka who seemed deeply intoxicated claimed that ICC will imprison DP William Ruto and the remarks did not augur well with the Kalenjin community.
Word making rounds indicates that DP William Ruto sponsored a meeting of Kalenjin elders to discuss his fate in Jubilee. It is believed that the meeting that took place in ASIS HOTEL brought together more than sixty elders from the larger Kalenjin community and they asked Ruto to consider quitting the coalition before it is too late to do so.
Elders who attended the meeting reiterated Sen Murkomen’s allegations that Gachoka was only a messenger programmed by Jeff Koinange to pass a message from the master.
“How could KTN and Koinange allow a drunk man into a national show knowing he could blow away everything? What motive does Gachoka have to say Ruto is going to jail? How could he dare tell us that our vote is only 12per cent and tell us to quit the coalition? Was he not sent by his master “Uhuru Kenyatta? Why has the President not come out to condemn what Gachoka said? How do we even believe that he was drunk when saying all that?†Explained Mr. Nicholas Kemboi from Nandi Hills with a lot of wisdom.
“Elders, I think It is time we reconsidered our stay in this coalition. What happened is a wake up call to our community. Kenyatta is lenient with us because of his 2017 reelection. According to the signs we are seeing now, we are yet to see more Gachokas after 2017. Let us not wait until we are disgraced. Let us consider talking to our old friends. We all know the kind of people we are dealing with†Narrated Mzee Cheruiyot, a stammering but accurate speaker.
The elders are yet to meet again next and give a way forward.
