The opposition Orange Democratic Movement yesterday accused the Jubilee government of using anger to keep its supporters loyal even as government fails to achieve its lofty campaign pledges.
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed accused Jubilee top leadership of “being driven by hunger, anger and greed” in governing the country.
The party accused the government of fuelling “anger” against its leader Raila Odinga whenever “caught stealing from the public coffers”.
“The anger against Raila, the desire to use him as a scapegoat while failing to tame its hunger for public resources shall be Jubilee’s fall,” Said Suna East MP Junet Mohammed.
He wondered how Raila’s name is getting dragged into a scandal he had nothing to do with.
“Jubilee is trying to drag Raila into a scandal that he has nothing to do with. You cannot have a skunk in your house and say the smell belongs to someone else. You must own both the smell and the skunk,” ODM Director of Elections Junet Mohamed said.
“When Ojwang appeared before a parliamentary committee early last week, he did so to shed light on what was clearly a case of fraud involving himself, Chinese investors and the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, and the alleged entry of Ruto into the deal which pushed everything through the roof turning it into a rip-off of tax payers,” Mohamed said.
Junet said Jubilee could do much better if it “drops anger as the guiding emotion and hunger and greed as the guiding goals when dealing with the public.”
“And now, with its principle caught trying to steal money meant for a hospital where his villagers would be the main beneficiaries,, jubilee is trying to shift blame to Raila,” Mohammed said.
The ODM Director of Elections was addressing the press at Orange House with MPs Simba Arati (Dagoretti North) and Florance Mutua (Busia women’s representative).
