Two female MCAs almost came to blows in the Assembly after exchanging bitter words over the manner of sitting. Kayole South rep Elizabeth Manyala accused nominated MCA Leah Mumo of sitting carelessly with her legs swinging all over place. Mumo shot back at her counterpart for poking her nose in what was not her business. “How I decide to sit is none of your business.
I sit how I like, provided I’m comfortable. And if I am comfortable crossing my legs, that should not be your business,†Mumo fired back. The April 29 drama started after Manyala rose to drum up support for Governor Evans Kidero’s move to block the Westlands roundabout.
Mumo who has been christened ‘First Lady’ because of her stylish dressing, asked whether Manyala was really a resident of Westlands. Annoyed, Manyala shot back at Mumo saying: “Why does she want to know where I stay? I cannot offer anything because I am not a lesbian.†Manyala later withdrew the statement after the Speaker intervened. – James Mwangi
