Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba will today hold a mammoth rally in Kisumu as ODM begins the registration drive to shore up its numbers ahead of 2017. The Secretary General of ODM will join other grassroots leaders in bringing new numbers to electoral register as ODM begins the journey to 2017.

ODM narrowly lost the 2013 elections due to low voter turn out in Nyanza and Western regions where it is estimated a low of 20 percent of voting adults turned up to register as voters.

Ababu was received by Kisumu governor Jack Ranguma and his Siaya Counterpart Cornell Rasanga.

Ababu, why and they are still going to kick you out of ODM! Once you deliver the votes, you cease to be relevant to them. Look what happened to Ruto after delivering Rift Valley votes to ODM!

A very healthy idea! However lets not forget the odds. Who will finally register, edit ,compile, store, manage and control the voter register? Who will finally ensure we don’t have double registers, including the black and green registers? Who will finally ensure the names in the registers are not error tagged by default, in order to disadvantage a segment of voters? who will educate CORD voters the importance of a valid voters card and how to safely use it as an arsenal of win? Who has researched the number of potential voters who don’t have a Kenyan ID card or passport? Mind you that is the document that genesis the voter registration process. The other question will be, do we still have faith in IEBC? who are the main players when election matters? The key to success in this exercise is to undertake “a love affair” interest with grassroot mobilization. Reach out, educate, solve the pending issues critical to voting process. If this can be done ahead of time and we don’t loose touch with the grassroot thereafter, at least , i’m sure we can bank on some numbers come election time. However, just like the devils advocate , I will be moved back to speak to those who care to listen.” If and only if , the broader intent of kickstarting this exercise by our leaders is for the TV show and for the big big broadcast annoucement! then we already know what we know!”………..”Waiter leta Tusker ingine”

The idea is welcomed , in my constitutincy we started it long time ago
Under the umbrella of that a c.b.o that seeks to to empower the yyouths.

However , it should never be for a big public showoff that will not payoff at the end.uths
