Candidates in the Homa Bay senate race have returned to the south nyanza county ahead of the Monday delegates nominations exercise to select the party’s candidate for the february 2015 by election.
The candidates who met yesterday at Orange House to agree on the list of delegates to be used during the polls travelled last night to Homa bay where delegates are said to have been booked in posh hotels in the county awaiting the crucial vote.
The 406 delegates will on Monday assemble in Homa Bay to nominate one candidate out of the 8 aspirants who returned their nominations forms to Orange House.
So far the popular vote is tilting towards Silas Jakakimba closely followed by Moses Kajwang’. Word on the street was that Party leader had asked veteran politician Engineer Philip Okundi to channel all his energies to either Jakakimba or Moses Kajwang’ a sign that Raila had confidence that the youthful Jakakimba or Moses will represent the party well.
