Gov. Joho sacks 55 Mombasa county staff ‘famed’ for extortion, indiscipline

PRESS STATEMENT

TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT OF INDISCIPLINED FIFTY FIVE INSPECTORATE OFFICERS
17.04.2015
This morning, I dismissed fifty five inspectorate officers from duty, due to their indiscipline, corruption, extortion, harassment of the public and desertion of duty. I have further instructed the County Secretary to remove them from payroll with immediate effect and the Ag. Director of Inspectorate Mr. Charles Changawa to form a team which will confiscate the uniforms and equipment from all the dismissed officers and those found with criminal offences to be taken to court.

All County inspectorate officers should execute their duties while exercising high level of courtesy, respect and professionalism, any officer whose character will be found wanting will be dealt with accordingly. No one will be allowed to tarnish the good image of our inspectorate.
