A potential spat between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto is in the offing with exclusive revelations at our disposal that the deputy president declined to go to state house after jetting back in the country late Sunday.
Ruto demands reinstatement of Kiplimo Rugut – a volatile issue among his Kalenjin vote bloc – which outspoken URP Mps, including Nandi Hills strongman Hon. Alfred Keter, have kept alive despite frantic TNA attempts to ‘downplay’ it.
Kenya Today has been informed  by an operative at the office of the Deputy President that Ruto declined the statehouse invitation on Sunday night and the whole Monday refused to meet President Uhuru. This has forced President Uhuru to come to meet Ruto in his Harambee House office and the meeting is currently going on.
It is worth noting that Alfred Keter was hosted by KTN television this morning where he openly accused President Uhuru of tribalism and nepotism and all manner of political chicanery moves which the President and his Mt. Kenya acolytes has treated both URP and other communities.
A Ruto close confidante and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi captured the outrage by Kalenjin leaders in an interview with the Star Newspaper.
“We were surprised to be told that the new boss of NYS was sworn into the office immediately after Ruto boarded the plane to go to The Hague,†said a visibly agitated Sudi.
Interestingly, Jubilee chatterboxes like Elgeyo Marakwet Onesmus Murkomen and Aden Duale have maintained a studious silence. But things are thickening!
Will the centre hold?
