EXAM SCANDAL ROCKS THE KENYA SCHOOL OF LAW
All is not well at the country’s Karen based premier legal institution- The Kenya School of Law that offers the Advocates Training Program for Law graduates who wish to be advocates.
With the exit of Dr. Kulundu Bitonye early in the year whose inefficiency and nepotism at the institution hit an all time high, many expected the new Director Prof Patrick Lumumba- the master of the Queen’s language would breathe a new lease integrity and streamline the institution to live up to its noble creed.
Barely a year in office, the just concluded Advocates Training Programme exams have cast the institution as one yet to recover from inefficiency and corruption.
After getting wind of the exam irregularities, Kenya Today’s investigative team launched an investigation. For the past two weeks we have interviewed students, lecturers and administrative staff and we are ready to roll.
In a three-part series that starts this Sunday, we shall show how lecturers colluded with students in leaking exams days before the exam date. In the first part we shall disclose how the Legal Writing and Drafting paper leaked and the key players behind it.
Part II and III will unearth the rot at the institution that led to more than five course units being leaked putting the credibility of the institution and the courses it offers at stake. Our team has obtained incontrovertible evidence that includes screenshots of email conversations, phone messages through the popular Whatssup platform. A scam that will shock many in the legal profession.
