Deputy president William Ruto’s campaign rallies in Kajiado Central failed to pick momentum as locals keept off leaving the Jubilee entourage in shock. Ruto ended up addressing a handful onlookers
A source close to Jubilee alliance indicated that the rallies today were held in deep interior areas inhabited by the native Masai communities and expressed optimism that Ruto will receive a better reception in cosmopolitan areas of Kajiado township and Isinya.
It is obvious the problems in Narok and the shambolic Jubilee nominations have come to haunt Jubilee Alliance noted Ole Tunayo a Namanga resident.
In the campaign DP Ruto told voters that the opposition does not have anything to offer their constituency and therefore they should vote for Jubilee’s Patrick Tutui for the sake of development.
“It is only the party in power that can solve the problems facing you and no one should cheat you that the opposition has anything to offer,†he said.
Ruto told residents of the constituency, to come out in large numbers and vote for Tutui saying he was well placed to unite the people.
“I have come here today to ask for your support so that Tutui can continue where Nkaissery left off,†Ruto told a rally at Meto open grounds.
“Use your vote wisely by electing a development conscious leader who will work and avoid those who come to you with empty rhetoric,†he added while adressing another rally at Oldonyo Orok in Namanga ward
He was accompanied by MPs Katoo Ole Metito (Kajiado South) , Samuel Lelilit (Samburu West), Moses Sakuda( Kajiado Central) Tuiyan Soipan (Narok Women Representative) and her Kajiado counter part Mary Senata when he toured the area.
Elswhere Prime Minister Raila Odinga received a super reception at Kankere in Dalalekutuk where he was joined by the ODM/CORD candidate for the Kajiado Central By-Election, Elijah Memusi Kanchory.
Raila was hosted by Mzee Ole Kinayi who had slaughtered a bull for the ODM entourage and later addressed mini rallies in the area.
