CAIRO – Ousted Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi today arrived in a Cairo court for the start of his trial. Morsi who trounced in to power after a revolution which toppled former strongman Hosni Mubarak would himself fall out with pro-change supporters and pro-Mubarak reactionaries, forcing the army to topple his regime amidst wide international condemnation.
Security has been beefed in around Cairo as violent protests from his Muslim Brotherhood party supporters are expected to throng the courtroom where he is facing trial.
Before his ouster, Morsi was seen as a pro-western leader with the Time Magazine christening him as the ‘most important man in the middle east’.
