Governor Kidero surprises political rivals, pulls MAMMOTH crowd to EACC offices

Governor Kidero surprises political rivals, pulls MAMMOTH crowd to EACC offices

Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero has surprised everyone by pulling a huge crowd of supporters to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission where he is expected to answer to accusations of corruption.

The populist move is the newest, strangest manoeuvre by a man seemingly getting to play hard-ball politics. Kidero, for all his past political mistakes, is seen as the heir-apparent of the Luo nation after CORD Leader Raila Odinga.

Dr. Kidero was named alongside a number of his officers in the ‘list of shame’ dossier which President Uhuru presented to Parliament recently.

The allegations against the Nairobi Governor is that he entered into negotiations with Foton – a vehicle company – to develop a mass transit transport for Nairobi, a project that will cost billions, without allegedly going through the procurement processes as laid down by the law.

Kidero however dismisses the allegations, saying he as the governor of Nairobi has authority to commit the county to financial agreements by any development or donor partner.
