Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery demanded that non-Masaai should not contest seats in Kajiado and other maa-speaking counties and warned of unspecified consequences ahead of the 2013 general elections. DPP Keriako Tobiko ordered that he be investigated and prosecuted. However, till now, that prosecution never saw light of day.
After investigations, sources revealed to Kenya Today the file was forwarded to Mr. Tobiko who is still sleeping on the file up to now.
Yesterday, as both Nkaissery and Tobiko formed a multi-agency to probe remarks by CORD leaders, Kenyans hit back at them by accusing the two of double standards and hypocrisy. Â They reminded the DPP that he has not prosecuted Gen. Nkaissery and also reminded Nkaissery that he lacks the moral audacity to comment on hate-speech.
“What happened to the hate-speech case against Gen. Nkaissery? He ordered for exclusion of some communities in the whole maasailand not long ago”, wondered a Facebook user.
The two are further accused of selective prosecution targeting opposition politicians.
