Deputy President William Ruto has told those opposed to the merger between URP and TNA to return to ODM or KANU and stop lecturing him about the issue.
Speaking in Bomet, Ruto reminded the leaders who include Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto, Kericho Governor Prof. Paul Chepkwony, Kuresoi South MP Zachayo Cheruiyot and Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter that he is not a fool to support the merger.
“None of you seated here at the dias went round the country to campaign for Governors, MPs and MCAs. I am the only party leader who did so and delivered many seats outside the rift valley region,” said the Deputy President.
“You cannot start lecturing me whether or not to fold the party. I am not a fool, I know what I am doing. If we do not merge the parties then we will not deliver the next election,” said Ruto.
