CORD takes early lead in Bungoma, Bomachoge

December 19, 2013

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) candidates for the twin by elections of Bungoma and Bomachoge are ahead in the votes counted with Senator Moses Wetangula opening a wide lead.

Senator Moses Wetangula, expected to win with a landslide, has already made a comfortable margin in Bungoma leading Jubilee Alliance’s candidate Musikari Kombo with over 30, 000 votes. Wetangula’s latest tally is 98, o50 to Kombo’s 51, 741 votes.

In Bomachoge, CORD’s Eng Kimori leads Jubilee’s ex-MP Joel Onyancha with a comfortable margin.

The by elections will assert the place of CORD leader Raila Odinga who led a high powered brigade for vote hunting for the two leaders as the greatest land politician alive in Kenya.
