Coalition for Reforms and Democracy scholar and Dean of SUNY at Buffalo Law School,Professor Makau Mutua, has urged the ICC to issue warrants of arrest against President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto for Witness alleged witness tampering.
“ICC MUST issue arrest warrants against Kenyatta and Ruto if they bribed, intimidated and tempered with witnesses. NO DOUBT,” reads the professors tweet.
Prof Mutua has been a leading voice in the ongoing ICC cases at The Hague and had openly opposed the presidential bid of Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto. The law professor awaits ICC resolution.
Meanwhile, ICC presiding judge on the Kenyan cases Osuji-Eboe has warned that those intimidating witnesses are liable for prosecution at the ICC for contempt of the court. The judge expressly mentioned journalists and bloggers, an indication that the ICC is now aware (assuming they were not) Â of the open intimidation ongoing in a large section of the mainstream kenyan media and certain online blogs.
