The government appears to be exerting psychological pressure on the single judge deciding the case of TSC against teachers.
Mid this week, Â TSC returned to court accusing teachers of boycotting duties as well as releasing over 5000 sack letters to heads of schools and several teachers.
“The revision of the term dates for primary and secondary schools has been necessitated by the fact that very little to no teaching and learning has been going on in most of these institutions in the last weeks with an exception of examination classes,†read the statement in part.
“As a result tension has been building up among learners who have been left idle under the care of very few teachers. Some incidences of insecurity in schools have been reported by Heads of Institutions and Field Officers during the said period.â€
The court did not order teachers to return to class immediately as TSC had prayed but delayed its ruling to Friday next week.
It appears the government came to the decision to release children to return back home as a multi-pronged attack on the decision to be delivered by the judge.
