Days after being slapped with a Sh50 million bill as costs for the High Court petition he filed against Nairobi governor Dr Evans Kidero, former Embakasi MP Ferdinand Waititu (TNA) Â has today filed a new application at the Court of Appeal to hear afresh the petition in which he seeks to remove Dr Kidero from office.
During the high court petition, Waititu had been ordered to pay Ksh5 million as elections costs to the petition but Dr Kidero’s lawyers filed a bill of costs amounting to ksh40 million which Dr Kidero paid for their services and which Mr Waititu should incur as the petitioner.
The IEBC lawyers also filed a Ksh10 million.
The new appeal comes even as a source within Dr Kidero’s office told this writer Waititu had this afternoon visited Dr Kidero in his office on an unstated agenda. It is also not lost to those who eat politics that another TNA legislature, Rachael Shebesh, has refused to chose reconciliation which a high court judge demanded and instead is also pushing for a legal redress on an alleged assault charge against the Nairobi governor.
