Raila’s man Elijah Memusi has been declared winner with +15,662 votes against Uhuru’s man Tutui who managed 14, 856 with a slim margin of 900 votes in hotly contested by election.
ODM’s Elijah Memusi is Kajiado Central MP-elect! There was an 80 per cent turn out and 102 polling stations.
The by-election was marred with claims of electoral malpractices. Three people were arrested over voter bribery claims after they were found with bundles of currency notes of up to Sh300,000.
The by election attracted three candidates; ODM’s Elijah Memusi, JAP’s Patrick Tutui and Mr Kuntai Nkashuma, an independent candidate.
The result completely buries Jubilee’s so called tyranny of numbers and confirms that it was an election rigging fallacy.
The result also projects a very vibrant opposition, one that many Kenyans still have hopes going by the margin the CORD candidate won in Homa Bay and now in Kajiado with all the massive voter buying and government machinery on the ground.
