NATIONAL ELECTIONS BOARD
UNVEILING OF THE PARTY CANDIDATE FOR MALINDI
Dear Kenyans, on Saturday 16th January 2016, the National Elections Board of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) held the nomination exercise to give party members in Malindi the opportunity to elect the party’s flag-bearer in the March 7 2016 by-election.
We had a total of ten candidates who applied and went through a successful process of vetting by the Board. We would like to report here that the nomination exercise was democratic and successful.
Yesterday morning, the Board met all the aspirants to agree on a common plan to support and campaign for the successful candidate.
Today, we unveil our candidate for the by-election. And this Candidate is Mr. Willy Baraka Mtengo.
As the Board, we have played our part. We have delivered the candidate. Now, we hand him over to the Party and the Coalition for the real battle. And in the words of Criss Jami, an American Author and Singer, “Confidence is like a dragon; where, for every head cut off, two more heads grow back.” We know you shall deliver. We believe in Hope and Confidence.
