The ongoing teachers Strike has been called off by the union KNUT and teachers will resume their classroom duties on Monday. The strike has been ongoing for the past four weeks and it was ceased following the wider consultations between KNUT and TSC, Sossion has confirmed.
Teachers wanted to be awarded the 50-60 per cent as directed by the court but TSC who in this case is the employer, declined on the grounds that the government has no money to warrant the increment. More details to follow shortly.
”The country yearns for leadership. My take at this juncture the teachers union leadership MUST show leadership. Two wrongs never make a right.A tactical retreat is a war strategy. We have to comply with justice Abuodha’s ruling call off the strike, engage in how the 50-60 will be implemented.90 DAYS is just like 90 minutes in an epic soccer encounter”.
