The country’s anti-corruption watchdog is embroiled in an internal war of control which has seen a bitter fallout between CEO Halakhe Waqo and Chairman Mumo Matemu.
Matemu had sent the deputy CEO Michael Mabea on compulsory leave, however, in a quick counter-response, the chief executive officer, Halakhe Waqo, revoked the order and directed the deputy to stay on the job.
It is still unclear what is causing the feud between the top two anti-graft bosses but sources say it has to do with corruption allegations levelled against influential people and which one of the two wants covered.
