News just in indicate that blogger Alan Wadi Okeng’o aka Liutenat Wadi appeared before a magistrate court today where he admitted insulting Uhuru Kenyatta via a post on Facebook. Alan asked to be forgiven saying he suffered a mental disorder.
The blogger also promptly apologized to Uhuru and expressed desire of meeting the president in person to deliver the apology to him. As per court procedures Alan will be sentenced today afternoon.
It is a pity that he was not represented, non of the thousands of Kenyans who follow him online knew that he will be produced in court today. It appears that his prosecution was well stage managed as only Statehouse lead blogger Dennis Itumbi knew the exact time Wadi was arrested and the time he was to sentenced.
Pundits were quick to condemn the court/prosecution for the hurried judgement and the secrecy with which his production in court was made. One only hopes that justice can be served hot and fresh to all Kenyans.
The State was very efficient in making the arrest and arraigning him court, one only hopes that such efficiency can be applied in prevention of terrorists not just punishing a frustrated mentally disturbed Kenyan.
