It’s only fair to agree with Ababu Namwamba’s observation that his current troubles within the Caliphate have got more to do with Raila Odinga‘s succession within and without ODM than the alleged “molarity” propaganda being peddled around.
It’s common knowledge,at least to the sober observers within the Opposition, that there exists within ODM a clique of some old men to whom the brand Raila Odinga is nothing more than just a source of livelihood-they just can’t survive without him!
Being of the same age set, they’ve in most cases fully exploited their “more comfortable” relationship/friendship with Raila to their own advantage and to Raila’s and party supporters’ disadvantage.
To sustain their otherwise expired political value and smoothen their own survival, they’ve made it their duty to completely extinguish any form of challenge, present or “future”,real or imagined that may arise therein.
To achieve this, they are determined to politically destroy beyond repair all the youthful potentials within the Caliphate that may dare dream beyond the determined boundaries.
To this end, they’ve always worked overtime to install in leadership positions;retirees who can never challenge them on anything, and puppets over whom they have total control over and whom they can very easily manipulate to either issue them, their relatives, friends and cronies with party certificates or nomination slots once they are overwhelmingly rejected by the voters!
This clique cares less about Raila’s political nightmares,(or are they dreams?) neither does it care about Odinga’s already mutilated political legacy.
To this clique,Raila the human being must never be contradicted even if he’s wrong. They call it loyalty. It’s extreme sycophancy.I call it stupidity.
It’s this clique that has always ensured Raila remains more or less politically stagnant by turning a once very popular political movement into a personality cult.
There’s hardly any room for the youths in ODM other than that of being party voters, soldiers of political violence in the streets and social media and social media hecklers, generally!
The war on Namwamba is war against the party youths- I mean the real youths, not the “youths” who’ve been recruited by the clique to help crash the political ambitions of their fellow youths! Ababu isn’t the first and won’t be the last.
The war officially began in Siaya not long ago.The war is gathering momentum and likely to get uglier and peak as we move along as it becomes clearer than before that Raila is nearing the exit door.
It’s probably high time the ‪#‎TeamFresh‬ brigade regrouped to force through the procrastinated party elections. The Youths must also stand up and be counted in this battle.
Otherwise, even URP is an offshoot of ODM,thanks to this same clique of octogenarians and their worshipers.‪#‎HapanaChesaChesaNaSisi‬!
