Embattled Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has maintained he was errorneously misrepresented by a section of the local press who reported that he is calling for ODM elections.
Mr Namwamba held a lengthy discussion with ODM Party Leader in the presence of party mps and officials at the CORD Secretariat headquarters, Capitol Hill.
Among those present included nominated senator Dr Agnes Zani who contested the Secretary General’s position in the February failed elections. Others included Dr. Oburu Oginga, nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura, John Weluke, Rachel Ameso, Suna East MP Junnet Mohammed among others.
After the closed door meeting, Mr. Odinga led the team in denouncing the reports, insisting that Hon. Namwamba had been misquoted by the media, especially The Star newspaper.
ODM is gearing up for a referendum and Ababu’s insistence on party elections is being seen to be part of a wide political plan by the jubilee alliance to scuttle the referendum calls.
