The child was among casualties who had been rushed to the Rift valley Provincial General hospital in a critical condition. Seven people perished on the spot in the accident that involved a lorry and a fourteen-seater matatu headed to Molo from Salgaa.
Most fatalities involved passengers travelling in the matatu as well as its driver. The lorry driver also died in the accident.
