Teacher Wanjiku heads to Yale school of Drama

Teacher Wanjiku heads to Yale school of Drama

March 19, 2014

Teacher Wanjiku is among the pioneer beneficiaries of  Equity Bank’s new talent and innovations fund “Valid Dreams” which will see hundreds of gifted Kenyans  horn their drama skills in some of the best performance arts schools in the world, nay, in America.

The teacher – a sit down comedian – who watched helplessly as her acting career tumbled before an expectant nation, will be in Lupita Nyong’o alma mater when she lands at Yale Drama School over this summer for a two-month make-over training.

“Wanjiku is a fine talent. Given more training she can go places, including Holywood. Who knows, maybe a second Oscar for our country?”  quipped the fellow who got us this information. Oscar? Like the Academy Award?

If all goes through, Wanjiku will join high performers sponsored by Equity Bank as part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility programmes.

The thespian will join other prominent Kenyans on study abroad, including politician Raila Odinga.
