Through his foundation, the governor has put a smile on many sad faces and also given them hope. Our judges had to go through more than 1600 nominees to finally settle on the leader of Nairobi. From Africa alone, there were more than 60 nominees but governor Sonko emerged the best of them all. We are satisfied that he is the best and he deserves the prize which he will be awarded next month in Yerevan, Armenia” Said Mr. Clooney.
The Aurora Prize for Awakening humanity was founded Armenia by the Roman Goddess of Dawn Aurora Mardiganian who bore witness to the horrors of Armenian genocide and told the world her story of survival to raise awareness for the 1915 atrocities.
