Police in Vihiga County are holding a woman accused of murdering her husband.

The suspect, a 36-year-old is alleged to have stabbed her husband Patrick Salano at their home in Visiru village in Vihiga county, following a domestic row.

The incident was confirmed by Viihiga OCPD Justine Nyagah, who said that the incident happened on Sunday, before the arrest of the suspect the next day.

It is said that the couple which has been drinking together did not go to their drinking joint together at usual, with the wife remaining home on that day.

Trouble began when the deceased returned home with another woman after his spree, which irked his wife, resulting in an argument.

The suspect then allegedly grabbed the knife and struck him four times in the chest.

The police boss said that the man died instantly, adding that investigations have been launched into the issue.

The body of the deceased is being preserved at the Vihiga County Referral Hospital morgue.

This comes amid increasing cases of such incidences in the region, and only days after a man killed his wife in a similar way before hanging himself.

Sammy Muhanji reportedly hacked his wife to death at their home in Elukui village in the same county.

He then abandoned the panga by a nearby river, and then went back home to hang himself.

The incident happened on Monday, July 29, and was confirmed by Tongoi Chief Ineah Olocho.
