Some people take the news that a teacher in Kirinyaga took her own life because she had not been paid her September salary as normal. It isn’t. It is abnormal in every aspect except before the eyes of of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his cronies.
To say that Uhuru Kenyatta has taken this country to the dogs would be an insult to the dogs who we know are better behaved than president Kenyatta’s regime. This teacher took her life because of delayed salary which president Kenyatta said he can’t pay, and he won’t pay.
President Kenyatta can now see the consequences of his reckless utterances which he made oblivious of the harsh economic conditions he has subjected this country into through unrealistic and misplaced economic policies. That is why the president must bear full responsibility of that life lost.
He must also explain to Kenyans why he doesn’t care about their lives. He must also explain how many lives must be lost before he fix the situation in the country.
Uhuru must know that he took oath of office to protect properties and lives of Kenyans. The same constitution also gives him a window of resigning from office if he isn’t in a position to fulfill this constitutional mandate. Just to remind him, it is not within his powers to choose when to and when not to protect the lives of Kenyans. If he is unable to protect Kenyans, then he should quit immediately and let someone more qualified than him, someone he stole his votes, to take over.
