The DPP has asked CID Director Ndegwa Muhoro to expedite investigations into a video showing the rape of a woman at a healthcare facility in Nairobi county.
‘Gynaecologist’ Mugo wa Wairimu, who runs Prestige Healthcare in Githurai 44 and Zimmerman estates, has been accused of malpractice following the emergence of the video.
“We are aware that investigations have already commenced. It should be completed expeditiously and the file submitted for perusal and further directions,” Keriako Tobiko said.
He issued the directive in a statement to newsrooms on Monday, hours after the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board said Wairimu is neither a medical doctor nor its member.
CEO Daniel Yumbya said; “We want this man to explain in a court of law how he is practising what he did not study.”
“Gynaecologists have to undergo sufficient training before practising in any health facility,” he added during a Citizen TV interview.
The 20-minute footage shows a woman consulting with a doctor before getting onto a procedure table.
She then stops moving and remains seemingly unconscious, after which the doctor also gets onto the table and has sex with her.
Wairimu denied the allegations via Facebook, saying; “My enemies – political, business or otherwise – have coalesced, in a most evil plot.”
“The plotters of the scheme used my most trusted colleague to obtain all the ingredients in their recipe of evil,” he said.
