Court has rejected Mugo wa Wairimu’s application to be heard in private. Session run into heated exchange as Dikembe’s lead counsel – senior Counsel James Orengo and counsel Edwin Sifuna differed with NCIC over reasons advanced by Wairimu.

Mr Wairimu who is the chief complainant in the hate speech case against CORD Blogger Dikembe Disembe had applied seeking court to be heard in private.

The other prosecution witness told the court he saw nothing wrong with Dikembe’s post and revealed that it was Mugo who reuested him to accompany to NCIC to register a complaint, at this point it is assumed that Mugo or forces higer may have bribed the other prosecution witness to make the complain.

The hearing continues…

After hearing both sides, the magistrate ruled that all proceedings shall be PUBLIC.

As an observer in this case, I too agree. Let Wairimu be heard in public. Let hatespeech be discoursed in public. Case has been adjourned to 2pm.
