BREAKING: COURT orders Cabinet Minister Hon John Cheruiyot to be JAILED!

A court in Nairobi has sentenced former powerful cabinet minister in the Moi government Mr. John Cheruiyot.

Mr. Cheruiyot, who was minister for Cooperatives Development in the last Moi government,  was sentenced to six months in jail for failing to pay businessman Antony Lang’o a Ksh 2 million debt. He had been playing hide and seek with the police since January when a warrant of arrest was issued against him.

He pleaded for leniency, saying he is no longer the ‘man of means’ he used to be.

“He has not shown any commitment at all to honour the debt despite the numerous times he has been accommodated by the court. I hereby order that he be committed to civil jail for a period of six months,” she said.
