When lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi appeared for the IEBC yesterday, his courtroom performance; with spasms of arrogance and fits of uneasiness, surprised many who saw him bully the same Supreme Court Judges he is now appearing before during the vetting process. Even more egregious, he kept arguing law as if he was in some political rally in Karatina.
At some point, he resorted to a shouting march (reminding us of one kabando wa kabando), you could clearly see the shock among other counsels in the court. The man is said to be a poor courtroom lawyer, anyway!
We also observed that his response to lawyer Kethi Kilonzo was not just plain arrogance but showed a flicker of sexism. The man is used to posturing, anyway!
He spits and ‘pukes’ the Queen’s singular mode of communication; English, reminding us of the incoherence in his client’s voice that fateful night at Bomas. You see, when you can’t speak well, science has proven that you can’t think well! The man is not used to being confronted with intelligence, anyway!
We watched, dismayed, as he raised his voice (as if bullying others), tapped his fingers, crossed his legs, interrupted others rudely and generally stretched the known confines of decorum in such a worthy profession, in front such worthier men of law. The man finds the going not easy, anyway!!!!
Ahmednassir is doing his job. We too are doing our job.
For his antics, this observer gives him 3 out of 10.
