Why URP has died a natural death….
By Steve Sor
It started like a joke and many urp youths rebelled against the urp youths league elections that saw many of them seek audience with KANU. I tell you it was well choreographed by the DP Ruto’s enemies to make sure his hold on in the great R. Valley comes to an end.
It started with muzzling of governors who were keen on getting more national resources to counties via the pesa mashinani initiative to which Ruto’s ‘enemies’ condemned him as led by Zakayo Cheruyoit
”URP will not survive in Rift Valley if its leaders continue to threaten its elected leaders,†said Zakayo Cheruiyot, the MP for Kuresoi.
Not knowing what to do, William Ruto came up with an idea to merge the two parties TNA and URP to save face in the impending embarrassment were he to be dumped by Mt Kenya chases it alone in the R. Valley.
Now that the R. Valley vote has been divided indecisively between three strong men Gideon Moi, DP Ruto and Isaac Ruto, I foresee the next general election becoming something else.
Uhuruto should know that if they can’t be able to consolidate the R. Valley vote, there may come a time when they will cry foul of their careless political maneuvers .
KANU on the other hand will not manufacture rockets overnight to get any bigger that what it has been in the boundaries of the R. Valley now that it lacks the financial stamina and good will it used to enjoy on the hands of retired Mzee Baba Moi.
The recently conducted KANU Reloaded team has clearly sent sharp reactions to its members suggesting that the KANU Reloaded fiction will just remain within the R. Valley bushes and manyattas.
