The Coalition of Reforms and Democracy is set to hold a major press briefing on Thursday after the earth-shaking revelations of massive irregularities of the 2013 elections by the state security and IEBC.
The morning press conference at Nairobi’s Serena Hotel will be attended by CORD Principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula and ODM acting party leader Prof Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o.
Several MPs, Senators and Governors are also expected to attend.
Young CORD MPs, senators and opinion leaders are proposing mass public protests to force Uhuru Kenyatta regime to disband IEBC while the more experienced leaders like Nyongó, Wako, Orengo, Musyoka have indicated that mass protests may not be solution and are proposing for other means to ensure Uhuru and Ruto play ball.
The young leaders are of the opinion that it is time for CORD to demonstrate its ability to mobilize and that the will of the majority should be find its way to the hears of the regime.
Kenyans are ready for action, they are only waiting for a leader to show them the way said a coalition official on a condition of anonymity.
We cannot operate like we are part of the government and expect improved electoral management, the people of Kenya gave us the mandate, we must carry out that mandate even though we are in opposition, added the senior official.
