The crackdown on second generation beer has just been completed in Talai shopping Center, Moi University, that has seen all entertainment joints in the centre shutdown on grounds they are located 500 metres from a learning institution.
The operation led by the Uasin Gishu county government and the NACADA officials ambushed numerous bars around “Stage “where they managed to ransack illegal beer.
This after the president’s directive to have all second generation liquor from unlicensed brewers eradicated.
Majority of the bars invaded had expired licenses which according to a NACADA officer who sought anonymity said ‘it’s a jeopardy to the locals and students who are the main targets by the liquor business’.
Guarana, Napoleon, Kenya cane, metropolitan among many other liqour brands were confiscated.
