Former Harambee Stars coach manager Adel Amrouche is back in the country holding talks with Football Kenya Federation for a possible return to coach the Stars.
One of the major impediments though is the jumbo amount of money the federation owes the Algerian.
The federation is currently coaxing him to drop the case he had filled at FIFA when the federation breached his contract.
It is believed that the Belgian has been in the country for a week now and the talks are believed to be productive.
According to sources, Football Kenya Federation owes Amrouche a staggering ksh100million which he wants to be paid before he resumes his stressful duty of coaching the Stars.
Adel the 47-year-old who holds a UEFA Professional licence had a 5-year contract with FKF but was unceremoniously sent packing by the previous office under the leadership of then FKF President Sam Nyamweya. His contract was to end in 2019.
Amrouche was sacked after Kenya lost to Lesotho during the 2015 AFCON qualifiers.
By the time of his sacking, Amrouche was under suspension by CAF after he allegedly spat on a referee during the AFCON qualifiers against Comoros in Moroni.
Amrouche led the Stars to the CECAFA Senior Challenge title in 2013 after 11 years in the cold.
Harambee Stars has been performing poorly even after the federation management changed with Nyamweya exiting and Nick Mwendwa taking over at the helm.
Barely a month ago, Mwendwa appointed Stanley Okumbi as head coach to replace Scotsman Bobby Williamson after taking over the office in February.
The appointment of Okumbi was, however, not welcomed by football enthusiasts and they started mounting pressure on the former Mathare United manager for failing to win in his initial two assignments after Guinea-Bissau hammered Kenya home and away in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in 2017.
